Actress Lara Dutta credited Akshay Kumar for acting as a protective, supportive mentor during their 2003 debut Andaaz. She stated Kumar never took advantage of her and Priyanka Chopra’s inexperience as newcomers, describing him as a “friend, philosopher, guide” who provided safety on set.
Dutta felt secure and mentored, not exploited, by Kumar.
Notwithstanding having no industry guidance, they felt protected by him and called him a “friend, philosopher, guide” in regarding the Andaaz set.
Marking two decades, she recalled the “incredible, exhilarating journey” and his protective nature.
Dutta earlier described Kumar’s mentorship as essential to navigating the industry early on.
