Music Legend Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday April 12 at the age of 92 in Mumbai following a battle with cardiac and respiratory issues. Admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in critical condition, her passing marks the end of an era for Indian music, with her son confirming the news.
With a career spanning over seven decades, she recorded thousands of songs in numerous languages, ranging from cabaret to classical.
Acknowledged for her versatility, she was a defining voice in Indian cinema, notably for her work in the 1960s and 70s.
Her family announced that last rites will be performed on April 13, 2026
She is survived by her son Anand.
