Veteran actor fikmmaker Pankaj Kapur feels infuriated over “Bheed” trailer dubbed as anti-indian while his film narrates the plight of migrant workers amid the Covid-19 induced 2020 lockdown

A voiceover during the teaser says, “Ek baar phir hua tha batwara, 2020 mein (Once again there was a partition, in in 2020)” which has ultimately led to a section of the internet mentioning that the filmmaker has deliberately sensationalised the controversial topic by comparing it to the partition of 1947.

In total disagreement to the same, Pankaj Kapur clarifies that people should watch the film to understand the narrative, adding that Anubhav Sinha has chosen an instance and built a story around it. As per Pankaj Kapur s the film is not saying ‘good, bad or ugly’, but merely showcasing how minds work. ‘Bheed’ projects thousands of migrant workers, who reeled through a tough time returning to their hometown from metro cities.
The Anubhav Sinha directorial ‘Bheed’ slated for 24 March theatrical release also stars Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Ashutosh Rana, Kritika Kamra and Kumud Mishra.
