New ‘Adipurush’ poster of Devdatta Nage as Bajrang Bali unveiled on Hanuman Jayanti
Marking the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti today 6 April, the makers of ‘Adipurush’ unveiled a poster of actor Devdatta Nage as Shri Bajrang Bali.
The Om Raut, directorial Adipurush’ recapitulates
the Hindu epic Ramayana, featuring Prabhas as Lord Ram, Kriti Sanon as Sita, Sunny Singh as Laxman and Devdatta Nage as Lord Hanuman.
It centres around Raghava, who travels to Lanka with his army with Laxman and Hanuman to rescue his wife Janaki from the clutches of Lankesh, essayed by Saif Ali Khan.
Taking to his twitter handle, on Thursday 6 April, director Om On Thursday, shared the poster of Nage as Lord Hanuman.
In the poster, Nage is seen engrossed in deep meditation as Lord Hanuman, with Prabhas’ Lord Ram in the background.
Earlier, the magnum opus ‘Adipurush’ got mired with controversies ever since the video of the film was released last year.
The makers got brutally trolled for the poor VFX and caricaturish portrayal of Lord Ram and Ravana. Several users also pointed out that it was a disrespect to the epic, which is the foundation of the Hindu culture.
On Ram Navami, the makers dropped a new poster featuring Prabhas, Kriti, Sunny and Nage, but that too failed to impress the audience. It was specifically Prabhas’ beefed up body as Lord Ram which did not impress the audience.
A complaint has also been lodged against the makers for showing Lord Ram in costume and sans janeu, which is a sacred thread in the Hindu culture.
Earlier ‘Adipurush’ was set to release in January this year, but post the harsh feedback from public, the makers decided to rework on the visuals. The film will now hit the theatres on June 16, 2023.
