Shahid Kapoor opens up on his struggling days in Bollywood, reveals he is self-made
Shahid Kapoor feels infuriated
when people assume he didn’t go through struggling days with dad Pankaj Kapur’s influence.
He clarifies he is a self-made
For those unversed Shahid Kapoor is one of the most acclaimed actors of Bollywood.
As per the “Kabir Singh” actor contrary to people’s assumptions, it has not been easy for him undeterred by the name of his father. The actor reveals why Mira Rajput wanted Misha, Zain to watch his film “Jab We Met” co-starring Kareena Kapoor.
Shahid goes to the extent of adding how his father Pankaj Kapur never made calls to help him find work in the industry.
Shahid marked his film debut in 2003 with a leading role in the romantic comedy Ishq Vishk. Since then, he has established himself with a number of films including Jab We Met, Vivaah, Badmaash Company, Haider, and Kabir Singh to name a few.
Shahid doesn’t mean that he had it easy because he didn’t even live with him as he lived with his mom.
Shahid further added that his father never made some quick calls to get him work in the industry. Pankaj ji was a very proud man and would never tell his son that he will make and meet the person. He was not like that. He was like Shahid struggled his way up and he was too proud to ask him also ever for any support.
In fact, Shahid never even brough it up with him neither did he ever ask him. It just never came up. So of course, it has been 20 years of a lot of work he summed up.
On the work front, Shahid will next be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar
directorial “Bloody Daddy” also featuring Sanjay Kapoor, Ronit Roy and Diana Penta and set to release in Jio Cinemas on June 8.
