Renowned stunt director and producer Ravi Dewan, acknowledged for his work in films like Jodhaa Akbar,
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, and Parindey, recently shared intriguing insights into his experience of working with legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and Govinda in the 1991 film Hum
Hum had one of the much lauded ensemble cast.Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda.
In a candid interview, Ravi revealed how the two stalwarts, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, who are even today known for their punctuality, always arrived on set ahead of time, while Govinda had a different approach, often reaching the set after lunch.
He recalled an interesting anecdote from the sets of Hum, We used to schedule the shoot whenever all three actors were available. There was a situation when we had to shoot a scene in Ooty with all three actors together. Amitabh and Rajinikanth were the kind of actors who would arrive on set half hour before their call time, while Govinda would join us after lunch. He has done films which were bankrolled by him but he won’t come on time even for his home productions. He had the issue of timing but we had to manage.
When asked if Amitabh or Rajinikanth expressed their displeasure at Govinda’s tardiness, Ravi clarified, “No, never. There was an early morning shot in Hum, featuring all three actors. Amit and Rajinikanth would be prepared and present on set at the appointed time. However, we waited for Govinda to join us at sunrise for four to five days, but he didn’t turn up on time. He didn’t know the reason behind him being late but he was never on time. In the end, we had to drop that scene from the film.
