Anil Sharma reveals Aishwarya and Kajol were to be cast for Gadar

Amidst Gadar having headlined for its big success and has emerged as talk of the town,
Filmmaker Anil Sharma who had helmed the project affirms that the Gadar folklore will never end. He went on to reveal that when he had finished writing his 2001 partition drama Gadar – Ek Prem Katha, he had thought of several popular actors to play the female lead, including Kajol and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but things didn’t fall in place.

Ameesha Patel played the female lead character of Sakina and Anil had liked two female actors of the time had liked the script but a few had rejected the film also, for reasons which he doesn’t want to share.
