Undoubtedly, Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar are one of the most iconic director-actor duos in Bollywood.
Notably, many moments from their movies have accomplished lasting popularity as memes.
Now after an hiatus of 13 years since their last joint project, Khatta Meetha, recent reports suggest they are set to collaborate forces once more for an upcoming comedy film.
As per latest reports, Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar are set to reunite once again on a comedy thriller backed by Ekta Kapor.
According to source close to the production house,
“Akshay and Priyadarshan have treated the audience with some of the most iconic comedies and are being very cautious of the subject for reunion.
A source close to the development reveals that the director-actor met last week on the sets of Singham Again, wherein Priyadarshan narrated an idea, that the Khiladi loved.
Reportedly, Akshay and Priyadarshan are in talks with Ekta Kapoor to produce this project.
The source further added that Akshay is committed to doing a film for Ekta Kapoor and on hearing the narration, he felt that this is the perfect script for Ekta to partner on. The trio is all excited for the union and are looking to take the film on floors by end of 2024.”
Notably, Priyadarshan has directed Akshay Kumar in 6 films; Hera Pheri, Bhagam Bhaag, De Dana Dan, Khatta Meetha, Garam Masala, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
All of these films have emerged immortalised through Instagram shorts and memes.
Fans are super-excited for the project and are expecting the same magic that the duo delivered from 2000 to 2010.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar currently has more than five films in his pipeline, including Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Khel Khel Mein, Housefull 5, Welcome To The Jungle, Jolly LLB 3, and Sky Force.
