Family (Khichdi) holds a significant place in the hearts of millions of cinegoers who have been captivated and entertained with their quirks for more than two decades.
In 2010, Khichdi, a popular TV show translated into a film that was declared a box-office success.
Ensuring to entertain and enthrall audiences this Diwali, the team of the film’s upcoming sequel Khichdi 2 – Mission Paanthukistan, screened its trailer for the audience amid media presence at a PVR in Citimall, Andheri on Wednesday 2 November.
Spotted in attendance at the event, were actors featuring in the project, Supriya Pathak Kapur, Jamnadas Majethia, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Kirti Kulhari, Kiku Sharda and director Aatish Kapadia.

Elaborating over the two-year delay to make the sequel,
Majethia, who goes by his initials JD and also the producer of the film, shared that they were much keen to helm a sequel for a very long time.
But never wanted to make a sequel just for the sake of making one. When the television show turned out to be a big hit, they immediately knew when to withdraw as they did not want to bore the audiences if they did not have any humour or laughs to offer.
Similarly, when it came to making Khichdi’s sequel, they wanted to establish a premises that offers enough room for their gags. They also understand there is a huge responsibility not just towards their audience, but also to the brand that Khichdi carries.
Voicing JD’s thoughts, writer-director Aatish Kapadia shared that they were on the hunt for a good window where bringing the experience of Khichdi 2 seemed favourable.
Unfortunately, all of them have come out of a pandemic and everyone were vocal on how Hindi films weren’t working at one point.
He added that they wanted to ensure that while bringing the film, they have a film that promises entertainment and a good jolly time for the entire family. Notably, Khichdi 2 is their Diwali gift to the audience.
The film also promises some sparkling cameos featuring Farah Khan and Pratik Gandhi to name a few.
