Eknath Shinde Sena MLA Sarvankar appointed Siddhivinayak temple trust Chairman
In a fresh development, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday, 7 November, appointed CM Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena MLA Sada Sarvankar as the new Chairman of Siddhivinayak Temple Trust.
He replaces Shiv Sena UBT leader and Marathi actor Aadesh Bandekar.
According to the Maharashtra government circular, Sarvankar,68, would serve as a chairman of the prestigious 222-year-old Ganpati Temple Trust for a three-year term from November 6, 2023.
Earlier Bandekar was on a two-term tenure as a Chairman of the trust from July 2017 to July 2023.
While speaking over his appointment, Sarvankar thanked CM Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar and saying that he feels fortunate enough to get the opportunity.
Sarvankar, an incumbent Mahim Assembly constituency MLA, is a four time legislator and considered to be close to Sena UBT president Uddhav Thackeray.
He, however, had joined the Shinde-led breakaway faction in June 2022.
Incidentally, the Mumbai police had registered an FIR against Sarvankar under the Arms Act in March 2023, after allegations of bullets being fired from his gun during a Ganpati visarjan in September, 2022.
