Nitin Gadkari warns “Steel & Cement Cartels” – escalating costs Roads, flyovers, Highways
Nitin Gadkari Minister for Road, Transport & Highways warned the cartels of “steel & Cement companies” that are escalating costs of Roads, flyovers, bridges. Gadkari asked the consultants to innovate technology so that there is less dependability on steel and cement in making infrastructure.
Nitin Gadkari said, ” Innovate, I will stand by you.” If there are accidents & mistakes but if the technolgy is appropriate, I will support good experiments. Cartels are exploiting our need to invest in Infrastructure. Knowledge is power, we need to convert knowledge into wealth.
About Highways, Gadkari quoted JJ Flyover, which he had made as Minister in Maharashtra Govt. 1995-2000. Expansion joints, which he saw there not being incorporated now.
Post Covid, India will reach to great heights, with maximum investment in Infrastructure, transportation.
Mr Gadkari said he is making 22 green express highways. India is making world record as maximum construction of 37 km per day, which he will increase to 40 km per day. India is having the highest “Road Network” in the world he said.
