Indira Gandhi assassin will contest LS polls from Punjab’s Faridkot
Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, son of Beant Singh, one of the two assassins who gunned down late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at her official residence in New Delhi on October 31, 1984 will be contesting from Faridkot, Punjab as an Independent Candidate.
Reports reveal that Khalsa Class XII dropout, had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha polls from the Fatehgarh Sahib (Reserved) and Bathinda seats in 2014 and 2019, respectively.
He fought as a BSP candidate in 2019. As per reports, Khalsa had declared assets to the tune of Rs 3.5 crore in the election affidavit in 2019.
His mother, Bimal Kaur, and his grandfather, Sucha Singh, became MPs from Ropar and Bathinda, respectively, in 1989.
