DCP Narcotics Datta Nalawade: ANC seize drugs worth 20 lakhs, cash 11 lakhs in two operations
The ANC- Anti Narcotics cell of Mumbai Police Bandra Unit and Kandivali units seize drugs worth 20 lakhs, cash 11 lakhs in two operations.
Bandra Unit under leadership of Mr Sanjay Chavan and officers Bhandgar, Bhoye, Karkar and Powle arrested one Taufiq Ilyas Shaikh from his residence at Lok Yamuna Society, Military Rd, Marol and recovered Rs 9,90,000 worth MD drug and cash worth Rs. 11,00,000. Taufiq is a habitual criminal with various cases against him at Samta Nagar, Airport, Sahar and Saki naka Police Stations. Case 70/2021 has been registered under various sections of NDPS act and further investigations is under process.
Kandivali ANC Unit under leadership of Mr Rupesh Naik and officers, Waugh, Khandagale and Tamde arrested two persons with drugs worth Rs 10,10,000- 505 grams of Charas from area near Fisheries College, Versova, Mumbai. One of the accused is from Sanyta=cruz and other from Malwani Malad. Case has been registered 69/2021 under various sections of NDPS act and further investigations are on. The Kandivali unit has been investigating the Nepal- Moti Hari Bihar route of international Charas Racket. More arrests are likely
