Notwithstanding generating positive reviews and ratings from both critics and viewers, the movie was a huge failure. Her subsequent motion pictures, Uttar Dakshin, Hifazat, Swati, and Awara Baap, likewise did not do well at the box office.
She gave a string of hit in 1990 with films like Dil, Saajan, Beta, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Raja, and Dil To Pagal Hai.

But Madhuri nearly gave up on the movie on the first day of filming because she wouldn’t do a scene, which annoyed director Tinnu Anand.
Reportedly, Madhuri was asked to remove her blouse, and was thrown out of the film.
Amidst the first day of filming Shanakht, Tinnu Anand recounted getting into a heated argument with Madhuri Dixit over her outfit in an interview with Radio Nasha. Madhuri Dixit resisted doing the sequence, even though she had initially agreed to it. It is reported that she remained in her dressing room for 45 minutes, and when Tinnu went to see how she was doing, she told Tinnu, she doesn’t want to do the particular scene.
Tinnu informed Amitabh Bachchan about Madhuri’s actions when he arrived to ask about the delay. Amitabh tried to fix the problem but failed. The director began seeking the actor’s replacement in the movie shortly after the incident, but Madhuri Dixit eventually agreed to complete the sequence.
She maintained a prominent position in the television industry by judging dancing reality shows even while she was a big deal on the big screen.
It is said that Madhuri Dixit has as of now amassed a wealth of
Rs 250 crore. She reportedly charges between Rs 4 and 5 crore for each film. Following her marriage, the ‘Kalank’ actor who had been the leading lady in movies for over 10 years, took a break from the industry. Years later, she returned to the big screens. She has accumulated enormous wealth over the years and has led an opulent lifestyle.
