For Sooraj Barjatya it was Main kidhar jaaon?He chose a full-fledged family drama close to his heart. He signed all the actors that he believed would reflect his vision of a happy family. Luckily, they were all perfect. Salman, Mohnish, Alok Nathji, Reema Lagoo and music composer Ram Laxman had already worked with him in Maine Pyar Kiya and Hum…Aapke Hain Koun. But he really missed Lata Mangeshkar in Hum Saath Saath Hain.

Sooraj Barjatya admitted the music was a feeble follow up to Hum…Aapke Hain Koun. He revealed that they couldn’t ask Lataji to sing herboÿÿ in Hum Saath Saath Hai as all the songs were chorus songs requiring several singers together. Lataji made Hum…Aapke Hain Koun very special. We had to make do without her in Hum Saath in Hum Saath Saath 
Hain.”

As for Hum Saath Saath Hain underperforming vis a vis Hum…Aapke Hain Koun, Sooraj had articulated that was only to be expected. History couldn’t be made at the same place twice. But I lllvery happy with the love that Hum Saath Saath Hain has received.”
