Manoj Bajpayee and Ram Gopal Varma are to reunite after 26 years after ‘Satya’ release in 1998.

Manoj’s role as Bhiku Mhatre turned memorable.

In a recent session, Manoj shared that he and Ram Gopal Varma are working on a new project together. The actor earlier had teamed up with RGV on films like Kaun Shool and Road (2002).

Sharing on the reunion, Manoj articulated that the good news is that he is going to make his next with him. They are trying to find some time and figure out dates. He is not off the radar. He was just taking a long break. He was chilling out. We all envied him, in the manner he chilled out.”

Manoj Bajpayee reflected on his iconic Satya character, Bhiku Mhatre, and whether it overshadowed his other roles. He said it might have if he hadn’t explored different roles and genres. “It would have, had I not taken a different path by exploring various roles and genres. With that kind of a success or recognition, it wouldn’t have been easy for any actor to come out. For three years, I was only known as Bhiku Mhatre. It was only after Shool, Kaun, and Zubeidaa, that people started separating the actor from the character. That happened because of my constant search for different kind of films and completely opposite roles that I have done. To my luck, all of those roles became quite memorable,” he said.

Manoj Bajpayee’s next film, Despatch, premieres on ZEE5 on December 13. Playing an investigative journalist, Manoj uncovers a major financial scam in this movie, which recently debuted at the International Film Festival of India.
Manoj Bajpayee, last seen in Bhaiyya Ji, is gearing up for the release of Kanu Bahl’s highly anticipated Despatch, which will premiere at IFFI 2024.
