Ben Affleck-Jennifer Lopez’s divorce:

‘Emergency’ actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut through her Instagram stories, pointed out how Jennifer Lopez—one of the most celebrated global pop icon, regardless her fame, wealth, and success, persists to seek the ideal life partner well into her fifties, following multiple relationships and marriages.

She emphasizes to value Indian culture, pointing out the enduring bonds seen in arranged marriages and criticizing Bollywood’s portrayal of marital relationships.

Kangana Ranaut has always been outspoken, and speaks her mind. But, this time, around, she cites the
much-publicized parting ways of Hollywood power couple Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck as an example to champion the concept of arranged marriages. She juxtaposed this scenario with traditional Indian-arranged marriages, which, according to her, are more enduring and stable.

In her post, Kangana wrote, “ sundaygossip. Whenever they mock Indian marriages, remind them of the most intelligent/good-looking actor/filmmaker / writer, so-called hottest man on earth, Ben Affleck. After many children, many marriages are still looking for that perfect wife. So is Jennifer Lopez, self-made, the richest and one of the greatest pop stars ever, still looking for that perfect person.
These two are so perfect that none is good enough for them. Following many trials and tests, children and families fed up by everyone’s flaws, these two decided to be together many times.

But last time they took double vows and then within few months ran in the opposite directions to save their lives; they are in their fifties and again divorced and still looking.””

Kangana also shared her observations from personal experiences, reflecting on how Western society often fosters a perpetual search for the “perfect” match, with many individuals relying on dating apps to find companionship. She contrasted this with Indian customs, where people often marry virtual strangers through arranged unions yet share a deep bond, holding hands and enjoying each other’s company even in their old age. Emphasizing the importance of valuing one’s own culture, she wrote, “Unlike in the West, where relationships often seem transient, in India, marriages built on arranged setups last a lifetime.

We see aged couples strolling hand in hand even at 80. Instead of idolizing Western ideals, we must restore our own cultural values, which have been slightly distorted over time, and refrain from seeking guidance from the West.”

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially divorced after a Los Angeles court approved their settlement in January. The divorce took effect on February 21, six months after Lopez filed to end their two-year marriage. They reached an agreement through mediation, avoiding legal battles. Lopez dropped “Affleck” from her name, and neither will pay spousal support. Married in 2022, they had separated over a year before Lopez filed in 2024. Earlier engaged in the early 2000s, they reunited decades later. Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while Lopez shares twins with Marc Anthony.
