Yesteryear veteran actor Deb Mukerji breathed his last on 14 March in Mumbai. He was 83 and was cremated at Pawan Hans crematorium, Vile Parle West.The funeral was a witness to a large number of industry people.

Notedly, Deb Mukerji was director Ayan Mukerji’s father and hailed from the famous Mukerji family. Among the notable films in which he acted are
Ek Bar Mooskura Do, Adhikar, Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool, Aradhana and Abhilasha.

Sunita Gowariker, who is married to filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker, is Deb Mukerji’s daughter from his first marriage.

Son of Sashadhar Mukerji, the owner of Filmalaya Studios, Deb was the brother of actor Joy Mukerji and producer-director Shomu Mukerji husband of actress Tanuja, and father of actress Kajol and Tanisha
