Twinkle Khanna on schooling Pakistanis

In her satirical column, Twinkle Khanna reacted to the removal of Pakistani actors like Mawra Hocane, Fawad Khan, Mahira from album covers of their respective Bollywood films.

Attributable to India-Pakistan tensions, Pakistani actors including Mawra Hocane, Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and others were scrubbed from the posters of their respective Hindi films on music platforms.

Mawra’s photo was scrubbed off from the official album art of Sanam Teri Kasam on on music platforms such as Spotify and YouTube Music. Whereas Fawad’s photo is no longer visible on the poster of his movie Kapoor & Sons.
Mahira has been removed from Raees poster.

And Twinkle Khanna has now reacted to this. She suggested replacing songs by Pakistani singers Abida Parveen and Farida Khanum with versions sung by Indian internet personality Dhinchak Pooja, who went viral for her cringe music in 2017.

In her column inTimes Of India, Twinkle Khanna wrote that she noticed Mawra was edited out from the album cover of Sanam Teri Kasam. “After the recent re-release of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, she has been listening to the songs on repeat.

While browsing Spotify, she realised actor Mawra Hocane had been edited out from the album cover.

Further, she wrote that digging reveals other Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan have been similarly erased from their online posters.
