The third schedule shoot for “Border 2” is in progress at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune. The high-profile film is the much-anticipated Sequel to veteran filmmaker J.P Dutta’s 1997 “Border” and features war classic “Border”.

Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty are on location. Joining them are producers Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta, and director Anurag Singh, best known for Punjabi blockbusters like Punjab 1984 and Jatt & Juliet.

Videos shared by Dosanjh and T-Series offer a glimpse of the camaraderie on set. In one clip, fans were treated to a nostalgic moment referencing Deol’s iconic “Dhai kilo ka haath” dialogue. Notwithstanding a light drizzle interrupting the day, spirits on set remained high.

Sunny Deol posted a behind-the-scenes photo with the caption:
“When all ‘Forces’ come together! Diljit Dosanjh & Ahan Shetty join Varun Dhawan and me as the battalion kicks off the 3rd schedule at Pune’s National Defence Academy! Border 2 hits theaters on Jan 23, 2026!”

A post shared by Sunny Deol:
Promising intense action, emotional drama, and national pride, Border 2 aims to recreate the patriotic fervor of its predecessor. The original Border became a cult favorite for its stirring dialogues and the song “Sandese Aate Hain”, still considered a patriotic anthem today.
Based on the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan war, the first film starred Deol alongside Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and Akshaye Khanna.

The sequel is expected to continue this legacy with a fresh ensemble and authentic settings like the NDA.
The film releases on January 23, 2026, Republic Day eve.
