Smriti Irani returned to television to play ‘Tulsi’ in Ektaa Kapoor’s “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”.

For those unversed, Smriti is former Union Minister for Education Irani apart from being an actress fashion model,actress and television producer.
The show premiered on 29 July, and fans have been overwhelmed with nostalgia upon seeing her staging her comeback.

While it was the assumption of many that it was Ektaa Kapoor who cast Smriti as Tulsi, the producer recently recalled that it was at the insistence of her mother, Shobha Kapoor, that Smriti was cast as Tulsi in the reboot- Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Infact, Smriti was widely acclaimed for her role of Tulsi Virani. The show premiered on
29 July, and fans have been overwhelmed with nostalgia upon seeing her return.

Just before the show’s premiere on Star Plus, Ektaa and Smriti held a live session on the channel’s official Instagram page, amidst which Ektaa shared an interesting anecdote on how Smriti was cast.
