Dimple Kapadia’s entry into the world of glamour and glitz at the age of 16, was like a dream and groundbreaking.
She was launched by none other than the entertainment industry’s biggest showman and director with a midas touch Raj Kapoor in Bobby released in 1973 opposite Rishi Kapoor.
The film’s unprecedented success made Dimple an overnight star and style celebrity. Her fresh-faced charm, combined with a bold persona, broke away from the demure heroines of the time. However, at the peak of her fame, she surprised the industry by marrying superstar Rajesh Khanna and distancing from films.
After a 12-year hiatus and eventual separation from Rajesh Khanna, Dimple returned with the Rishi Kapoor starrer “Saagar” released in 1985
The film reaffirmed her talent and established her as a mature actress.
