Not many may be well versed about the renowned actress Poonam Dhillon.
Prior to setting her foot into Bollywood, she was crowned Miss Young India in 1978 when she was just 16 years old.

She caught the attention of legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, who offered her a role in Trishul released in 1978. This marked the beginning of her acting career. Though her screen time was brief, her charm stood out — and she was soon cast as the lead in Noorie released in 1979.
Following the success of Noorie she emerged as a Nationwide Star Overnight.

Notwithstanding being a newcomer, Poonam’s performance in Noorie was so impactful that it won for her a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress. The film, made on a modest budget, turned out to be a huge box office success and turned her into a household name — all at just 17 years old. Her portrayal of innocence and emotional depth won over audiences across the country.

Unlike many of her contemporaries, Poonam Dhillon prioritized education even at the height of her career. She completed her graduation while acting in films, proving her dedication to personal growth. Later in life, she also pursued a MBA in International Business, setting an example of lifelong learning.

Long before it became a Bollywood trend, Poonam Dhillon launched her own company called “Vanity”, which provided customized vanity vans for film shoots. This made her one of the first actresses to enter entrepreneurship in the Hindi film industry, showing her flair for business as well as acting.

In 2004, Poonam Dhillon joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and became active in politics, contesting elections and participating in party campaigns.
She also stepped into reality television and was a finalist in Bigg Boss Season 3 (2009), where her poised and graceful demeanor won her a new generation of admirers. As of now she is the Chief in artistes’s association
Cine & TV Artistes Association ( CINTAA).
