Actress Janhvi Kapoor paid tribute to her late mother, Sridevi, in a heartfelt gesture a day after her birth anniversary. Resonating on their fond memories, Janhvi expressed the enduring presence of her mother’s memory in her life.
Taking to her Instagram post, Janhvi shared throwback photos with Sridevi. The images were complemented by photos from Janhvi’s recent visit to Tirupati. She wore a beautiful blue half-saree and traditional South Indian jewellery for her spiritual visit. The caption read, “Happy Birthday Mumma, every step with your name in my heart.” This post was met with an outpouring of love and support from followers.
Earlier on August 13, Janhvi’s sister and fellow actor Khushi Kapoor also shared a collage of throwback pictures with Sridevi.
Boney Kapoor, their father, too shared an anecdote from Sridevi’s 27th birthday.
He reminisced, that in 1990, at her birthday party in Chennai, he wished her happy 26th birthday while it was her 27th birthday to make her feel that she had gone younger. It was a compliment that with every passing day she was getting younger, but she thought she had was teasing her.
Notably, Sridevi was Indian cinema’s first female superstar. With films spanning across multiple Indian languages, the late actor’s ability to captivate audiences with her versatility left an indelible mark on the film industry. She died in February 2018 in Dubai due to accidental drowning.
On the professional front, Janhvi will be seen in the upcoming film ‘Param Sundari’.
Co-featuring Sidharth Malhotra. The romantic comedy follows the story of a Punjabi man falling in love with a girl from Kerala. The trailer for the film was released earlier this week and has already garnered 38 million views on YouTube.
The makers have also released two songs so far – ‘Bheegi Saree’ and ‘Paradesiya’. Both songs have received a positive reception.
The Dinesh Vijan’s directorial backed by Maddock Films, ‘Param Sundari’ theatrically releases in on 29 August 2025.
