ex-employee Vishal Punjabi recalls while associated with ace choreographer-turned filmmaker on the sets of ‘Main Hoon Na’. He was beaten by her.

Vishal Punjabi, The Wedding Filmer, discussed his time at Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies. He worked there for ten years. Farah Khan was a strict taskmaster. She taught him filmmaking. Shah Rukh Khan showed great thoughtfulness towards his employees. Vishal learned about crew payment and motivation from him. These experiences shaped his current business practices.

The Wedding Filmer, is a legendary name in the wedding videography industry. But, before floating his business, he worked for a decade at Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies. Vishal worked as a line producer in the 2004 blockbuster Main Hoon Na.
He revealed that the director was a strict taskmaster on the sets, but she also taught him many things. He went on to reveal that she made him develop a very thick skin when they worked together. He also added that she’s genuinely funny, and has a bagful of brilliant ideas.
He has been beaten by her a lot, but he also learned so much from her as he knew nothing about filmmaking. She gave him a break and taught him how to shoot.She didn’t have to do it, she had access to the best crew in the world.

Lauding SRK’s kindness towards his crew, he revealed how thoughtful he was towards his employees and that there were delicious free lunches in the studio. He then admitted this helped him be more understanding and generous towards his own employees.
It saved us a lot of money and time. Vishal learned how to ensure his crew is paid well and creatively motivated. This he learned that from him. He tried to do his best with people who work with him.
