PM Modi opens up on his 25 years of service to the Nation
PM Modi amidst the anniversary of his 25th year in public service, expressed gratitude to the people for giving him the opportunity to serve the country and also reiterated his government’s commitment to building a developed India.
Taking to his X(twitter) he wrote that it was on this day October 8 2001, he was sworn in as the CM of Gujarat for the first time. Today, he has entered his 25th year as the head of the government and of serving the people, who are like God. This accomplishment in a democratic system is a great blessing from the people of India. Adding that every single day, every single moment of these years, he had strived to work with dedication to improve the lives of his countrymen and for their development.
The Prime Minister also revealed that in the past 11 years, many “historic transformations ”have been made and every segment of society has been empowered. Special efforts have been made for youth, women, and food providers. Today, India boasts the world’s largest healthcare and social security schemes. It is the result of the efforts of a government sensitive to the poor that 25 crore people have defeated poverty,” he said.
He also said India is emerging as a beacon of hope among economies across the globe the call for swadeshi is emerging as the core mantra of self-reliance in every sector.
Continuing that today, he once again expresses his gratitude to the people of the country for their trust, their affection, and their blessings. This opportunity to serve Mother India is the greatest honour. He assures all that, guided by every word and every sentiment of the Constitution as their ideal, will continue to strive with the same dedication to realise the dream of a developed India.
The Prime Minister further recounted that when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appointed him as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the State faced numerous challenges, including a devastating earthquake and political instability and the adversity did not break their spirits, but inspired them instead to build a strong, prosperous, and rejuvenated Gujarat.
And when he became Chief Minister, his mother Hiraben told him that he doesn’t know much about his work, but always to remember two things: First, work for the poor, and second, never take bribes’. This lesson was invaluable. He resolved that they would strive to do their best in serving the people, and that every action of the government would be inspired by the spirit of ‘antyodaya’.
Recalling the time when the BJP nominated him as its Prime Ministerial candidate in 2013, PMModi wrote: “Coincidentally, that period was also a time of unprecedented crisis for our nation. There was immense distrust in the Congress government. The then UPA government had become a symbol of corruption and misgovernance. India’s credibility in the global order was weakening steadily. In that situation, people trusted me and elected himto serve them. In 2014, the NDA government was formed, marking the first time in three decades that a party won an absolute majority.”
Congratulatory messages from his Cabinet colleagues, allies, and party leaders poured in for him on the occasion. Among them were Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party chief and Union Minister J.P. Nadda, and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
