Atlee heaps praises on Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1
The director of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” ‘Jawan’ Atlee, one of the most sought-after filmmakers in Indian cinema following the massive success of his film with Shah Rukh Khan, is the latest to emerge as ‘Kantara’ fan. As he now works full swing on his upcoming film with ‘Pushpa’ star Allu Arjun, the director revealed amidst an exclusive chat with a Digital media that he drove for two and a half hours in Amsterdam to watch Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ on day one.
In the midst of the conversation, when asked if he had watched Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, Atlee said, he was in Amsterdam when the film released. On day one, he watched it in theatres. He drove for about two and a half hours to the theatre to watch it. Immediately after, he called Rishab, who is a good friend of him and someone for whom has great respect.
The ‘Bigil’ director further added, “following watching the film he can say he is a wonderful inspiration for all filmmakers. What he has pulled off is something that is not humanly possible. As a director, he can say it is incredibly difficult to execute such a film.
But he’s also the actor in it — the hero — and it’s not just a character to play. It takes a lot of rhythm within you to bring that out.”
Amidst expressing his admiration for Rishab Shetty’s work, Atlee added that, hats off! He wants him to win the National Award. What he has brought to the film is unbelievable he love him!”, pitting Rishab as a frontrunner for the National Awards once again for his performance in the film.
Rishab Shetty and Hombale Films’ ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ released in theatres on October 2 to mostly positive reviews from audiences and critics alike. The film has achieved a major milestone in its box office journey, crossing a monumental Rs 500 crore gross worldwide, with a total collection of Rs 509.25 crore in its first extended week.
Alongside Rishab, the film features Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in prominent roles.
Atlee, on the other hand, has been busy shooting for his next film, tentatively titled ‘AA22 x A6’. The film stars Allu Arjun in the lead, marking his return to the big screen after the monumental success of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. The film also features Deepika Padukone, and speculation suggests several other big names like Rashmika Mandanna, Mrunal Thakur, and Janhvi Kapoor are associated with the project, although they are yet to be officially confirmed.
