Dilip Kumar and SRK hold record for most Filmfare Best Actor Awards
Reportedly,.over six decades, Filmfare has emerged as one of the most noteworthy events in India, acknowledging talent and memorable performances on the big screen.
Markedly, the Filmfare Awards celebrate the magic of Indian cinema every year, honouring the best actors, directors and films along with those behind the camera.
But not many know which actors have won the most Best Actor awards in Filmfare history.
Leading the list is Dilip Kumar, who has won the Best Actor award an incredible eight times in his career.
Dilip Kumar’s first Filmfare win came for Daag in 1952 and he went on to win for iconic films like Devdas (1955), Naya Daur (1957), Kohinoor (1960), Ram Aur Shyam (1967) and Shakti (1982).
Shah Rukh Khan is the other actor who shares this record. He has also won the Filmfare Best Actor award eight times, thrilling audiences with his memorable performances.
SRK’s wins include films like Baazigar (1993), Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Devdas (2002), Swades (2004), Chak De! India (2007) and My Name Is Khan (2010).
Amitabh Bachchan was honoured for his iconic films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Don, Hum and Paa. In 1991, he also received the Filmfare Lifetime
Other notable actors with multiple Best Actor Filmfare awards include Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, each winning four times.
Legends like Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Ashok Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, and Anil Kapoor have each won the Best Actor award twice, proof that Filmfare has celebrated talent across decades.
