Life-saving heart surgeries through her foundation
The talented Indian singer is not only recognised for her melodious Bollywood hits but even for her compassion. Through her philanthropy, she has touched countless lives. What makes her story truly inspiring is how she uses her voice not just to entertain, but to heal. Through her Palak-Palash Charitable Foundation, she has helped perform heart surgeries for underprivileged children, giving them a new lease of life. For Palak Muchhal, music isn’t just an art — it’s a way to serve humanity, one heartbeat at a time.

A large portion of her earnings goes towards funding heart surgeries for underprivileged children. So far, she has helped perform over 3,800 heart surgeries, and many more are still awaiting treatment.

Palak, along with her brother Palash, runs the Palak Palash Charitable Foundation, which manages these surgeries and raises funds for critical heart patients. In 2013 alone, she collected over
₹ 2.5 crore, enabling 572 children to receive life-saving operations. Her incredible social service has earned her a place in both the Guinness Book of World Records and the Limca Book of World Records.

Palak’s compassion was kindled in childhood when she saw children cleaning train compartments. Profoundly affected, she decided to dedicate her life to helping the needy. She even sang to raise funds for families impacted by the Kargil War in 1999.

The singer went on to reveal that at times, the income from her stage shows isn’t adequate to cover all pending surgeries. She shared that they prioritise the most critical cases first,” adding that she sometimes dips into her savings to ensure no child is left untreated. Her husband, Mithoon, has also confirmed that all her stage show earnings are directed towards these surgeries.

Palak Muchhal has lent her soulful voice to several hit songs such as Kaun Tujhe from M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, the title track of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Chahun Main Ya Naa and Meri Aashiqui from Aashiqui 2, making her one of Bollywood’s most loved playback singers.

Recently, Palak Muchhal shared a heartfelt video urging people to contribute as per their means, even if it’s as little as Rs 100. Her dedication proves that music can indeed heal, not just hearts, but lives.
