The year 2025 has been nothing short of incredible for the living legend of Malayalam films.
Malayalam film industry’s legendary actor Mohanlal has been having an Incredible year. He has already delivered three major hits this year in L2: Empuraan, Thudadum and Hridayapoorvam and has Vursshabha lined up for release. In fact the teaser of his next film Patriot with Mammootty has also been released and in amongst all of this , he took time off to go and shoot a cameo for veteran director Priyadarshan’s upcoming next Haiwan which features Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. While Saif plays a blind man in the film Akshay is the negative lead of the film.
Haiwan is a remake of 2016 Malayalam film Oppam which fearured Mohanlal in the lead. In his earlier conversation Priyadarsahn had revealed about Mohanlal making a cameo appearance in the film. Sharing the image from the shoot he wrote , “Look at life and the way it turns… Here I am, on the shooting sets of HAIWAN, working with the son of one of my biggest cricket heroes and my favourite film icon. Truly, God is kind.”
Haiwan is also significant as the film brings back the team of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan after Tashan. Together they’ve had very successful outings in films like Tu Khiladi Main Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Keemat and Tu Chor Main Sipahi. The two of them recently shot for a chase sequence in the middle of Mumbai for Haiwan.
But this won’t be Priyadarshan’s comeback film to Hindi Cinema, that is going to be Bhoot Bangla with Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, tabu and Wamiga Gabbi. And if all goes well he would be starting Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty by next year.
