Veteran actor-filmmaker Feroz Khan’s “Dharmatma’ hit the big screen in 1975 and was India’s first realistic mafia film, and veteran actor Premnath played Don Dharamdas played. His mild breathlessness due to obesity made his dialogue delivery the ‘equivalent’ of Marlon Brando’s raspy muttering in The Godfather. He used to play his character very effortlessly. His role as a police officer and Don was much lauded and appreciated.
