Two Canadian streets are named after popular names in the Indian Film Industry Raj Kapoor, A.R. Rahman
Amid a whopping population of roughly 2.88 million people of Indian origin in Canada, the country undoubtedly has a huge Bollywood fanbase. While cinema halls and OTT figures have long proved the Indian diaspora’s loyalty, two Canadian streets also testify to it: Raj Kapoor Crescent and A.R. Rahman Street.
Even as neither street is a major sightseeing hotspot, their existence speaks volumes on how Indian cinema and music have travelled across borders, finding a permanent place in everyday urban geography.
