Renowned author and columnist Shobhaa De on Wednesday, taking to her Instagram account shared her thoughts about the updated track of
“Saat Samundar Paar” used by the makers of the film ,”Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri”
picturised on Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday.
Posting a poster of Kartik and Ananya from the film, she wrote, “Don’t know what the fuss is about! Not sure about legalities and / or copyright issues. She enjoyed the new version if an old favourite (‘Saat Samundar Paar’) immensely.”
Furthermore, Shobhaa explained why the remix worked for her personally, noting,
“One, because she loves Kartik Aaryan. One of our most underrated actors.
Two, because she adores the track. They have a fam/ friends chat group titled ‘Saat Samundar’, after an epic and totally hilarious dance performance at a family wedding.”
Moreover, she shared her take on the film’s vibe. “The new film, ‘Tu Meri…’ etc looks frothy, frivolous and fun. Like ‘Emily in Rome’. But hopefully, far more entertaining.”
Meanwhile, her defense comes just a day following lyricist Anand Bakshi’s son, Rakesh Anand Bakshi, and voiced concerns about the credits for the recreated track.
For the unversed, the original Saat Samundar Paar was written by Anand Bakshi for the 1992 blockbuster Rajiv Rai’s directorial
“Vishwatma”produced by late Gulshan Rai under the banner of Trimurti Films Pvt Ltd. But ironically the makers without talking permission from the makers used the song.
