PM Modi visited the most sacred and historic shrine of Somnath Temple on Saturday where he was accorded a hearty welcome. He offered prayers and participated in the Somnath Swabhiman Parv an event highlighting India’s civilisational spirit.
Notedly,Somnath Swabhiman Parv marked 1,000 years since the first invasion by Mahmud of Ghazni in 1026.
Thousands of people had congregated to welcome PM Modi at the Somnath Temple.
Later PM Modi, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi held a ‘trishul’ amidst Somnath Swabhiman Parv. He also participated in the ‘Omkar Mantra’ chanting at the temple
witnessed a drone show in the Somnath temple complex, showcasing a blend of ancient faith and modern technology.
PM Modi said beam of light emerging from the sacred land of Somnath is conveying the message of India’s cultural power to the entire world
Meanwhile, PM Modi also participated in Shaurya Yatra on Sunday to honour the warriors who sacrificed their lives to defend the temple.
