The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance swept the polls with 118 seats, and the BJP emerged as the single largest party with 90 seats. The Shiv Sena (Shinde), on the other hand, is leading with 28 seats. As per Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora, its the END to the soap opera of Mumbai politics. Adding that
the ‘BMC results have put an end to the soap opera of Mumbai politics’ and emphasized that the city ‘prefers progress and accountability over melodrama and masala’.

On Friday Union Minister Nitin Gadkari congratulated Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP state president Ravindra Chavan, Chandrashekhar Bawankule and party workers on the BJP Shiv Sena alliance’s sweeping victory in elections to all 29 municipal corporations in the state.
In a post on X, Gadkari thanked the people of Maharashtra for reposing their faith in the BJP-led Mahayuti, saying the mandate reflected the public’s priority for development. Adding that the decisive win would give fresh momentum to the Mahayuti government and accelerate the state’s development agenda.
Expressing confidence in the future, Gadkari said Maharashtra’s journey towards progress would gain greater strength under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
