Atlee claims no immediate plans for Jawan sequel with SRK
Shah Rukh Khan reportedly took over the box office like a ball of fire with his pan-India blockbuster Jawan. And the man behind presenting the superstar in that action-packed avatar was none other than the acclaimed filmmaker Atlee. It is thus obvious that fans want the two to collaborate again, probably for Jawan 2.
But, the director, in an exclusive chat shared that there are no immediate plans for a sequel.
Atlee further went on to mention that although he is also excited to work with Shah Rukh again, Jawan 2 may not be that project. But Jawan 2, he personally feels [can only happen] maybe after some years. won’t be the immediate next. But they will look into something. When that idea comes, or something happens organically, they will definitely do something.
Recently, there was a strong buzz that Shah Rukh Khan had imposed a condition on the makers of Don 3 that he would do the film only if Atlee directs it. The Farhan Akhtar-led sequel initially set to star Ranveer Singh. When asked about the same, Atlee laughed it off, calling it merely a rumour.
Adding that he also read about it, but there’s nothing like that. It’s just a rumour.
Atlee was playing an exhibition match at the World Pickleball League, in which he
co-owns a team, ‘Bengaluru Jawans’. The defending champion of the tournament, the filmmaker shared he’s hoping to take home the trophy this time around, too.
On a personal note, last week, Atlee and his wife, producer Priya Atlee, announced that they are expecting their second child. The couple, who welcomed their first son, Meer, in January 2023, shared the news with their followers on Instagram, posting a series of photos that depicted their growing family and excitement for the new arrival.
