Boong’ to hit theatres again on March 6, new poster dropped

BAFTA-winning Manipuri film “Boong” is set for a grand theatrical re-release across India on March 6, 2026. Following its historic win at the 79th British Academy Film Awards—the first Indian film to win in the Best Children’s & Family Film category, the makers have released a new poster to mark its return to cinemas. 
The film scripted. history by defeating international contenders like Zootopia 2**Lilo & Stitch, and Arco.
The debutant Lakshmipriya Devi directorial film.produced by Excel Entertainment (Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani) is a poignant tale of a young boy from Manipur who goes on a journey to bring his father home as a surprise for his mother.

The new poster emphasizes “A journey of innocence, love and resilience”.
According to producer Farhan Akhtar following a limited release in September 2025, the film returns to a wider audience.
The film is recognized for its rooted storytelling and for capturing the innocence of childhood against the backdrop of turmoil in Manipur.
