.After India’s ICC T20 World Cup 2026 victory against New Zealand in the finals on Sunday 8 March at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Amitabh Bachchan jokingly credited himself for the win, taking a humorous approach by describing himself as the “lucky charm” who enabled the victory by not watching the match. 

Taking to his X(twitter) the legendary actor tweeted: I said I wouldn’t watch, and they’d win! It happened
He often refers to himself as “bad luck” for Team India if he watches live, so his absence was a “sacrifice” or “totka”.

He jokingly took credit for the team’s success and claimed his
non-viewing was the secret reason behind the win.
