Geraftaar” “snatched” from Kishore Kumar (initially planned for another singer became an iconic hit for Amitabh Bachchan.
Reportedly, Composer Bappi Lahiri originally wanted to use singer Shabbir Kumar for this song, but it was later given to Kishore Kumar, who was Amitabh Bachchan’s voice amidst his superstardom.
Some sources also link other songs that Kishore Kumar “snatched” from others (like singing for Rajesh Khanna over Dev Anand) or songs he lost or was reluctant to sing for Amitabh, such as “Khaike Paan Banaras Wala” (which he initially didn’t want to sing but later made iconic).
