Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani has taken an indirect, critical “dig” at the film Dhurandhar 2 (also known as Dhurandhar: The Revenge), a Ranveer Singh-starrer Aditya Dhar directorial primarily targeting its fictionalized, positive portrayal of the 2016 demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.

The film reimagines the demonetisation policy as a strategic, successful covert operation termed “Operation Green Leaf” aimed at destroying terror funding networks.

Vishal Dadlani in hiInstagram stories challenged this depiction, calling it a “new BS doing the rounds,” insisting that the film is “just entertainment,” and that viewers should “get [their] information from better sources”.
Dadlani highlighted that contrary to the movie’s portrayal, the 2016 move did not permanently eliminate terror funding or “black money,” citing data on continued terror attacks post-2016.

The critique comes amid Dhurandhar 2’s high box-office performance, which crossed ₹500 crore worldwide within three days.
“Dhurandhar 2” has faced criticism from some viewers for its portrayal of a “masterstroke” against terrorism while others have praised its scale and performance.
