Released on April 3, 1992, this romantic family drama, also featured Madhuri Dixit and Aruna Irani, and was the highest-grossing film of the year, surpassing major hits like Shah Rukh Khan’s Deewana and Amitabh Bachchan’s Khuda Gawah.
Beta earned roughly ₹23.5 crore against a modest budget and was a remake of the 1987 Tamil film Enga Chinna Rasa. Anil Kapoor also won his second Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance as ‘Raju’ in this movie.
