In this lovely collage, Rekha is seen with her sister Dhanalakshmi Sapru, also known as Dhanu. Dhanalakshmi is the daughter of actress Pushpavalli and cinematographer K. Prakash, making her Rekha’s maternal half-sister. Unlike Rekha, who became one of India’s most admired stars, Dhanalakshmi chose to stay away from the limelight, appearing only once in the Tamil film Oru Thayin Sabatham.
She married actor Tej Sapru in 1987, acknowledged for his strong character and villain roles in Hindi films and television. Regardless their different lives, the sisters share a very warm and affectionate bond. Rekha is often seen joining family get-togethers and celebrations hosted by Dhanalakshmi and Tej.
