News comes to the. fore that a portion of the historic Kapoor Haveli in Peshawar, Pakistan, partially collapsed following heavy rains and tremors from an earthquake on Friday, April 3, 2026.

Reportedly the collapse occurred after days of continuous rain weakened the century-old structure, followed by a strong earthquake that caused a section of the wall to cave in.
Located in Peshawar’s Qissa Khwani Bazar, this was the ancestral home of legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor and his father, Prithviraj Kapoor. It was built between 1918 and 1922.

The building was declared a national heritage site in 2016, but has long suffered from neglect. Officials have warned that without immediate restoration, the entire structure risks irreparable damage.
