Satish Kaul, known as the “Amitabh Bachchan of Punjabi cinema,” had an unfulfilled dream of gaining major recognition in Hindi films, which resulted in a tragic, financially challenging later life. His aspirations for Bollywood stardom were replaced by limited roles, leading to a decline in his career despite earlier success.
Regardless his talent, Kaul’s Hindi film career did not reach the heights of his Punjabi career. He faced severe financial distress, personal losses (divorce, parents’ cancer), and a major hip fracture.
He ran an acting school that suffered losses and passed away on April 10, 2021, due to COVID-19 complications, with little support from the film industry. Jackie Shroff and Preeti Sapru were among the few who extended their support, with Preeti Sapru helping him significantly.
