PM Modi characterizes WB environment as a “fear atmosphere” and ” jungle raj”.

Prime Minister Modi recently described that West Bengal is under an “atmosphere of fear” due to TMC-led violence, corruption, and “syndicate raj”. He described the state’s situation as “maha jungle raj” and claimed citizens face threats, crime, and lack of security, urging a shift to “trust” and development under BJP rule.
He cited political violence, extortion (“cut money”), and women’s insecurity under TMC rule. He described the state’s situation as “jungle raj,” where TMC workers intimidate opponents and residents.

He targeted incidents of murder, rape, and riots, noting people feel unsafe.
He accused the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) of using threats to intimidate voters and critics, creating a “syndicate raj”. The comments were made amidst high-stakes campaigns before the 2026 assembly elections, promoting a “six-point guarantee”.

PM Modi ensured a “double-engine government” to replace this fear with trust, promising accountability and a crackdown on illegal activities.
