Hardik Pandya reflects on disastrous campaign

Following Mumbai Indians’ (MI) 8-wicket loss to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2026, a heartbroken and emotional Hardik Pandya admitted, “Not the season, I feel, not just the night”.The MI skipper reflected on a disastrous campaign after another defeat in Chennai, acknowledging the team failed to gain momentum.

Pandya openly conceded that the 2026 season has been entirely disappointing for the team, rather than just a one-off bad performance.
He praised CSK, stating, “They played better, they bowled better, they fielded better, and they batted better”.
Pandya noted that MI failed to accelerate after 10 overs, failing to reach a projected 180-190 run target. Social media and reports indicated the MI captain was visibly disheartened after the loss, with some fans comparing the team’s struggling 2026 form under him to previous seasons.This loss further dented Mumbai Indians’ playoff chances in the IPL 2026 season.
