The Canadian-raised playback singer recently returned to Canada’s Greater Toronto area to perform alongside musical maestro A.R. Rahman for his “Rangreza” musical spectacle.
For Jonita, who grew up in nearby Brampton, the May 2026 performance at Meridian Hall was incredibly emotional. It served as a full-circle moment where she shared the stage with the legendary composer, serenading her hometown crowd with a massive orchestral rendition of the timeless classic “Tere Bina”.
Having her family sitting in the audience to witness her homecoming made the experience uniquely special.
