Bollywood is currently divided following the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issuing a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh. The standoff stems from Singh’s abrupt exit from Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3″ which left Excel Entertainment claiming ₹45 crore in pre-production damages after the actor ignored three consecutive summons from the trade union.
A massive online backlash has erupted, with fans questioning why workers and technicians are being dragged into what they perceive as a private, ego-driven battle between a star and a studio.
Although, the producers’ guild pushes for accountability, many in the fraternity argue that a trade union lacks the legal jurisdiction to enforce a complete industry “ban” over a contractual dispute.
The actor and his team have maintained their dignity through silence, bypassing the union’s notices on the grounds that contractual matters belong in court. Singh’s team has officially extended their best wishes to the ‘Don’ franchise for its future success.
