The organizers of the “Melbourne Meets Modi” event at Marvel Stadium have demanded an unconditional apology from Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. They strongly condemned the party’s claims that attendees were paid and flown in on chartered flights.
In an open letter, organizers defended the diaspora’s integrity, highlighting that volunteers made significant personal sacrifices, stepped away from businesses, and accepted financial risks to support the historic community reception. They asserted that the Indian diaspora should never become collateral damage in India’s domestic political debates.
