Mumbai is currently in a brief monsoon lull, experiencing sticky humidity and temperatures around 29°C that “feel like” 35°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), relief from this muggy summer-like stretch is on the way. Clear skies are giving way to increasing cloud cover, with light evening drizzles starting tonight and a steady revival of widespread, moderate monsoon rains expected by the weekend.
Daytime highs will ease down from 30°C to a more comfortable 28°C as the system strengthens over the weekend.
Expect mostly isolated, light thundershowers through Friday, transitioning into steadier, moderate thunderstorms starting Saturday, July 18.
Unlike the intense downpours seen amidst the first week of July, the IMD has placed Mumbai under a stable Green Alert for the immediate coming days.
No severe disruptions are expected.
